The St James’ church ‘Faith in Action’ group works with the PCC to support a number of charities.
In particular, the group advises the PCC on the allocation of 5% of the church’s annual general income which the church has committed to give to charities.
The group also works to increase awareness in the congregation of the ongoing work done by the supported charities, by means of newsletters, talks, video links and contact addresses and now, this dedicated webpage.
In 2019, about £3000 was given to 10 charities working in the UK and worldwide.
In 2021 an appeal raised £3350 (plus Gift Aid) for our nominated charities.
